Games don't have to have the best graphics to have be good games and have good game play. ![]() Too many cell shaded games and doubtful indie titles. I think this is just a personal preference thing at this point. I think games that do cell shading are ugly and horrible.īraid is like Super NES graphics. Jon Van Caneghem and Lars Buttler were longtime game developers as well. I wouldn't call them "indie" at this point. They're not supposed to be top of the line graphics, but someone who has played WoW since Vanilla amongst many other mmo's of the past 15 years the graphics of Pantheon, Elyria, and Camelot are a breathe of fresh air.Ĭonsidering the art dev team is doing a shitty job with all 4 of those games as "niche indie titles" when you have other indie titles out there like Trove, Skullgirls, Braid, Mark of the Ninja, Neverinth, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Friday the 13th, Catherine, Below, In The Morning Turns to Ash, and Edge Of Eternity all are INDIE games that had low budgets (and some were actually crowdfunded) yet retain a better art style than the 4 brought up in this thread.Trove what? This was Trion's fifth game. All the others I think have really good graphics. is the only one where I don't like the graphics, maybe it's just a style thing but I don't like it. The fact that your character WILL have an expiration date makes progression in the game pointless. ![]() The graphics looks worse than EQ2 yet it is a new game with a lot of customization. ![]() Ĭhronicles of Elyria just sounds horrible from the start and looks just as bad. Pantheon has badly outdated graphics and very little else has been released about the game to make it stand out from the dozens of other MMOs out there. (filter the selection of "gameplay" to see actual gameplay footage) It is a solely pvp game that lacks to provide anything that Warhammer brought to the table. Ĭamelot Unchained has very outdated graphics and it hasn't even been released yet. The graphics are pretty shitty and the game play is crap too. Crowfall has looked like a bad indie game from the start.
